Minnesota protesters who took to the streets for the third straight night on Tuesday after the fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright are calling for an independent investigation.
Police in Brooklyn City Center declared an illegal rally on Tuesday when the curfew went off and told protesters they would be arrested if they stayed. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Tuesday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.
The protest follows the resignation of Tom Gannon, Brooklyn City Police Chief, and Kim Potter, the officer who, according to police, fired the shot that killed Wright.
‘We want an independent body to investigate the murders of the police and not the police [Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension], ”Said attorney and activist Nekima Levy Armstrong, according to the Star Tribune in Minneapolis.

“Because you all showed up, Kim Potter no longer has a job,” activist Toussaint Morrison told the newspaper. “Kim Potter was a police officer longer than Daunte lived. … You can ‘t tell me it was an accident.”
