Much attention has been paid to the proceedings of Rittenhouse, especially as a case among right-wing circles. His supporters welcomed the news on November 20 that he was leaving prison after an apparent fundraising effort reached the required $ 2 million.
Now, where he is awaiting trial is in question.
“God bless EVERYONE who donated to help #FightBack raise the required $ 2 million cash bail. Special thanks to actor Ricky Schroder @ rickyshroder1 and Mike Lindell @realMikeLindell for bringing us to the top “Kyle is SAFE. Thanks to EVERYONE who helped this boy,” read the tweet.
On Jan. 5, Rittenhouse pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and, among other things, one count of attempted murder. He virtually attended via Zoom.
Make requests for further restrictions
Less than two hours after he performed, Rittenhouse (now 18) was spotted with his mother at a local bar, an outing that was confirmed by prosecutors through a surveillance video.
In Wisconsin, it is legal for someone under the age of 21 to possess and drink alcohol if a parent is present. Rittenhouse cannot legally use alcohol in public in his home state of Illinois.
Prosecutors also called for Rittenhouse to be banned from “displaying symbols and gestures in public in connection with violent white supremacist groups and associating with well-known members of the groups, particularly the Proud Boys.”
Attorney Richards stated in a document that Rittenhouse had never been a member of the listed groups and did not object to the new conditions regarding alcohol, white supremacist hand signals and group affiliation.
Attorney John Pierce, who was part of Rittenhouse’s defense team until mid-January, signed an affidavit said Wednesday due to numerous death threats: “The Rittenhouse family was once arranged in a ‘Safe House’ on ‘ an unknown place live ‘bail posted.
Rittenhouse is due to appear in court again on March 10, with the selection of juries starting on March 29.
