(CNN) – Capitol police officer Eugene Goodman has been accused of plotting to assassinate a senior member of the Senate during a week-long strike.
Now, a bipartisan trio of legislators seeking to reconvene Goodman with a Medal of Congressional Gold will potentially save lives in one of the most obscure days of United States history.
The Democratic representatives Charlie Crist of Florida and Emanuel Cleaver II of Missouri, and the Republican representative Nancy Mace of Carolina del Sur, will present this week’s legislation to grant Goodman the medal, reserved for state attorneys with “distinctive logos and contributions” for his país.
Goodman’s contribution was praised.
