Project of the Ohio State Soccer Game in 2022 in the Corner Series after Domani Jackson’s Decision Saturday: Buckeyes Recruiting

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Another of the top targets of Ohio State football in the 2022 yard class will come off the board on Saturday.

Domani Jackson of Mater Dei High School in California – the no. 3-player and corner 1 – will choose between the Buckeyes, Arizona State, Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma and USC. However, momentum does not seem to benefit OSU.

There is a high possibility that the state of Ohio will lose to Jackson. If that happens, he will join Amani Winfield as players in the 2022 class who were apparently OSU locks at one point before going elsewhere. Winfield was once considered the second wide receiver in the class along with Caleb Burton before choosing to stay home and play for Steve Sarkisian in Texas. It looks like Jackson is on the same path to staying close to home by picking Clay Helton at USC.

If things will swing the Buckeyes’ favor within the next 24 hours, Jackson is the second five-star cornerback to participate in a class in which Jaheim Singletary, a Florida resident, is already being offered. The last time OSU landed two five-star corners was in 2017. The class also happened to have the position’s no. 1 player in Jeff Okudah displayed, while the other was from Florida in Shaun Wade.

Singletary joined the class at the beginning of the month as the second corner in the class along with Jyaire Brown. The four-star Ohio native who spent most of his life in New Orleans before retiring to West Chester last summer was the first bet in a group that is now at the top of the rankings.

There are ten corners in the 2022 yard class with Ohio State offerings, and six will still be undecided after Saturday. Here’s a look at them and the chances for everyone to join Brown and Singletary in class:

Denver Harris, North Shore High School (Texas)

The addition of Harris over the past few years would be a continuation of the success of Buckeyes in Texas. The 2022 class already has Quinn Ewers and Queb E receiver Caleb Burton. Landing Harris would give them three of the top four players in the state.

The Longhorns have a single crystal ball for the no. 6-player and cornerback 3, though it has been around since August and hasn’t gotten much traction since. He did not include Ohio State in a top-eight release last February. But if Singletary’s commitment has taught us anything, it’s that Kerry Coombs’ return means OSU can once again convince a five – star cornerback that Columbus is the right home for them in no time.

Will Johnson, Gross Pointe South High School (Mich.)

Johnson and his father, Deon, came on a ‘visit’ to Columbus the same weekend, but Ohio State would play Michigan before the game was canceled. Elder Johnson played the corner of the Wolverines, who have long made them the favorite. This is no longer the case after a trip to USC.

His recruitment is closely linked to Jackson’s, as the two have on several occasions expressed a desire to play in the same secondary university. The crystal balls that favor Michigan have declined for Johnson. Depending on where Jackson picks on Saturday, it will not be a surprise if Crystal Balls favor them to be the No. 8 player and no.

Jadyn Lukus, Mauldin High School (SC)

The no. 31-player and no. 6-corner line is the last five-star player in the 2022 working class on the position. He’s had four crystal balls since favoring Clemson since June, though he hasn’t pulled the trigger yet.

Luke is probably the least likely to be a Buckeye at this point. Although he has slowly chosen to commit – a year-long death period probably plays an important role in this – he does not live far from the Tigers campus. Dabo Swinney has built a successful program without bringing in a load of five stars, but if one is literally in your backyard, it’s smart to include him as soon as possible.

Austin Jordan, Ryan High School (Texas)

The second Texas player on this list, Jordan, admitted that he was ‘mentally’ when he earned an OSU offer in October 2019. His relationship began with Jeff Hafley, now head coach of Boston College, but continued to grow with Coombs.

“I heard he’s an excellent coach,” Jordan told cleveland.com in June. “I would like to be honestly coached by him.”

He is named the no. 167 player and no. 19-angle line. He has yet to limit his list, but the feeling is that Oklahoma and Texas are joining the Buckeyes as favorites.

Ephesians Prysock, Bishop Alemany High School (California)

Prysock’s first impression of Coombs when he received an OSU offer in the spring was quite remarkable with the expectation of the animated defense coordinator.

“He was very excited,” Prysock told cleveland.com in May. “He said every man he coached was in the NFL. Whether they are injured or not. ”

The no. 196 player and no. 22-yard line is bigger than the average player on the position, which is why some feel he might end up as a safety at the university, even though he is determined to play outside the corner at 6 feet 3 and 170 pound. It will not be a shock to see this happen, as Ryan Watts, a first-year student in Ohio, also stands at 6-foot-3 and sticks out as a corner.

“A lot of people think I’m a security guard, but I’m really a cornerback,” Prysock said. “I think a lot of people think that because I’m tall and tall.”

Toriano Pride, Lutheran North High School (Mo.)

The state of Ohio has found success in Missouri in recent years, and Pride would be the next addition to it. Ezekiel Elliott was the first to arrive in 2013, but since Kamryn Babb and Cameron Brown joined the 2018 class, the Buckeyes have since added at least one in each class. This includes Jakailin Johnson as a top 100 recruiter in 2021.

Pride is the no. 240 player and no. 27-corner line in the country and told cleveland.com that he hears more than any other Ohio State school, even though it’s not always about football. He hopes to make a turnaround soon, especially as the recruiting period is finally lifted on April 15th.

“Yeah, I’m really looking at them,” Pride told cleveland.com in December. ‘I hear more than anyone from Ohio State. … The state of Ohio is going more out of their way. … If I do not hear from them, I’ll get a funny picture of (recruitment coordinator Mark) Pantoni, or he’s making jokes and stuff. ‘
