Producer Megan Ellison accuses Scott Rudin of ‘abusive, racist and sexist behavior’

Another person who worked with award-winning producer Scott Rudin is speaking out about his alleged ‘abusive, racist and sexist behavior’.

Annapurna Pictures founder Megan Ellison took to Twitter on Wednesday to address the claims made by former staff members against Rudin, who claimed to The Hollywood Reporter that he had physically and mentally abused people under his service and not was ashamed of the careers of emerging producers who had crossed him.

Ellison, who previously worked with Rudin on the 2010 Joel and Ethan Coen film “True Grit”, taken to Twitter to accuse Rudin of more toxic behavior than outlined in the article, comparing him to the disgraced film mogul and convicted rapist, Harvey Weinstein.

“This piece barely scratches the surface of Scott Rudin’s abusive, racist and sexist behavior. Like Harvey, is too scared to talk. I support and applaud those who did,” she wrote. “There is good reason to be afraid because he is vindictive and has no lies.”

According to IndieWire, Ellison comes from a place of personal experience when comparing her work with Rudin to Weinstein. She has also worked with the captive producer on titles such as “Lawless”, “The Master” and “Killing Them Softly.”

The store also says this is not the first time she has publicly condemned Rudin’s behavior.

In 2014, shortly after a leak exposed to emails from Sony employees, Rudin’s email in which he referred to her as “a bipolar 28-year-old insane” was exposed. At the time, Ellison was trying to get involved in the “Steve Jobs” movie he produced by Sony. Rudin’s email also implies that Ellison must take ‘meds’ to be a viable producer of the film.

“Bipolar 28-year-old insane ..?” Ellison responded on Twitter at the time. “I always considered myself more than eccentric.”

Rudin is an award-winning producer of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony in hit movies such as “The Social Network”, “There Will Be Blood” and “No Country for Old Men.” He also sits behind TV shows like “What We Do in the Shadow” and “The Newsroom.” Meanwhile, his theatrical production credits include the 2018 Tony Award-winning adaptation of “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

In the revelation of The Hollywood Reporter, several former staff members claim that the engine that drives Rudin’s success in Hollywood is based on the alleged hard work and traumatization of a constantly changing roster of young staff members who are continuously abused by the 62-year-old producer who often becomes physical.

In the article, several former staff members, some of whom did not want to be named for fear of career retaliation, detailed details in which Rudin allegedly subjected them to conditions and anger that they described as insulting.

A rep for Rudin did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment.
