With the aim of promoting and looking for new expansion opportunities for companies and local products in the North American market, the Executive Director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro Disla, participated in a commercial mission in the United States.
During his participation, Riveiro Disla procured to identify opportunities for extraneous investment, given that United States is among the main commercial companies of this year with an inversion of US $ 367.05 million, followed by Switzerland US $ 121.20 million, Haiti with US $ 69.81 million, Puerto Rico US $ 38.45 million and Netherlands US $ 27.15 million.
It stands to reason that, in the first half of this year, 2021, total exports of the Dominican Republic will fetch US $ 747.5 million, showing the main gross export products, a 16%, of pure cigars 8.90%, electronic disyants 7.75%, medical instruments 6.12%, ferroníquel 4.36, joyrica articles 4.21%, among others.
Riveiro, accompanied by Jaime Licairac, Director of Exportación; Marcial Smester, director of Inversión Extranjera; Lissette Elías, Commissioner for Negotiations in Florida; Raysa Rodríguez, New York Negotiating Commission; and Maritza Bello, Manager of International Relations, held individual meetings with EE.UU Product Distributors, as well as with Dominican and North American companies, with the goal of establishing angles that allow them to trade and position new products. in areas such as tourism, technology, infrastructure development, among others.
Strategic plan
Referring to this visit, the Executive Director of ProDominicana, said that the initiative forms part of the review presented ‘2021 Commercial Promotion Plan’, as well as the interest in completing the Objectives of the Export Plan of the Exports, which as proposed creates concrete and strategic actions to promote and promote Dominican products in the global environment, as well as to identify opportunities for Dominant negotiations.
“United States is one of our main commercial societies, for which, it is important that our companies and products are marketed as a real opportunity to relocate the exportable quality of food that has more than 4,200 products”, indicates Rive .
The agenda includes work meetings and consulates of New York and Miami, and the participating mission also includes entities such as the C12 Group, Empresses de Atlanta, Importer De Mi País, Coral Gables Magazine, E-Florida, Interport Logistics, Port of Miami, Mana Common, Miami World Trade Center, Cacao Export, SBS, Coral Gables and Doral Alcaldias, among others.
In addition to the governmental representation, the mission included the consuls of New York, engineer Eligió Jáquez and Miami, engineer Jacobo Fernández. Similarly, the delegation is summoned to meet the Doral City Commission, Digna Cabral, which is set to maintain a strong link with the Dominican Community in South Florida.
