Pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood is under investigation for alleged illegal voting

A pro-Trump lawyer who led conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, including allegations of voter fraud, is being investigated for illegal voting. WGCL-TV, a subsidiary of CBS, Atlanta cites a high-level source in the Georgia State Department’s office, saying the office is investigating whether Wood voted “out of state” even though he actually had a resident of South Carolina was then the election in November.

It is unclear whether Wood was able to vote in Georgia and whether he was considered a resident when he voted.

In a statement sent to CBS News, Wood said he has been a resident of the state of Georgia since 1955. I changed my residence in South Carolina yesterday. [February 1, 2021]. “

He added: “This is pure harassment by Georgia’s Secretary of State because I have revealed credible evidence of Brad Raffensperger’s election fraud” – the Georgia Secretary of State.

Wood told NPR that he “lived in Atlanta in October 2020 and was a resident of Georgia at the time … I have properties in Georgia and South Carolina.”

The prominent pro-Trump figure has sued Raffensperger in one of a series of unsuccessful lawsuits over election fraud in the 2020 election. Wood, with Sidney Powell, filed the lawsuit in the field of battle to try to overthrow election results.

Wood spoke at the judge’s court office about his allegations, including a “Stop The Steal” event in Georgia on Dec. 2.

A “Stop The Steal” March in Washington, DC precedes January 6 assault on the Capitol.

The 68-year-old was permanently suspended by Twitter to pursue conspiracy theories and advance the Capitol attack. He was temporarily suspended and then banned because he said he would use a second bill to circumvent the suspension, according to Buzzfeed News.

Recently, the Georgia State Bar began an investigation into Wood’s competence. According to The Associated Press, the investigation falls “under the cross-rule that has to do with mental disability or drug abuse.”
