‘In high school, I feel like the kids who chased me don’t even understand why. I think it’s they decided they were more powerful than anyone else – me – and if you choose someone, it’s because you’re insecure.
‘Bullying happens to children and adults. It happens with positions of power, and we have all seen it abused in various ways … It has affected me adversely. It affected my self-confidence; it affected who I wanted to be. I felt exposed when your skin is raw. ‘
Priyanka talked about her growth as a person: ‘For the girl who was so scared, I am proud of the person in whom I developed.
“I handled a lot, and I thrived. I want girls all over the world to think about it.
‘It does not matter where you come from; it does not matter what your circumstances are. Your grit is important, your ambition is important, your perseverance is important. ‘
