Priyanka Chopra announces that she will open an Indian restaurant in New York City: ‘I am delighted to present you SONA’
Priyanka Chopra has announced that she will open a restaurant called SONA in New York at the end of March.
The 38-year-old actress made the news by posting a trio of images on her Instagram account on Saturday.
The former Miss World wrote a long message in the caption of the post in which she expressed enthusiasm about her new venture.

Chopra begins her message by writing, “I am delighted to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC, into which I have poured my love for Indian food.”
She then explains the concept behind her restaurant and notes that ‘SONA is the personification of timeless India and the tastes I grew up with.’

On the same day, Chopra’s business partner Maneesh K. Goyal posted on his own Instagram account to share his feelings about the soon-to-be-opened restaurant.
The restaurateur stressed that SONA was not planned by one person in particular, writing that “opening a restaurant is definitely a team effort.”
He then spoke of Chopra’s commitment to providing a space for her culture to appreciate, writing: “There is no one who declares ‘global Indian’ better and more bold than Pri.”
Goyal also noted that Chopra was very practical while developing the concept of the restaurant.
“From the design, to the menu, to the music, to even the name, Priyanka has her fingerprints all over SONA,” he wrote.

In addition to her recent efforts as a restaurateur, Chopra also has several film projects.
The actress is starring in the upcoming romantic drama film Text for You, which will star alongside Outlander star Sam Heughan and singer Celine Dion.
The main photography on the project started in October 2020 and started this year after production.
The figure of the entertainment industry has also been added to the cast of the upcoming Matrix film; her role has not yet been specified.
Although the feature was originally scheduled to be released in May this year, it was pushed back to December 2022 before the premiere date was rescheduled to December 22 this year.
