Prisoners break windows, put out fires inside the prison in St.

Dozens of prisoners in jail in St. Louis revolted on Sunday night – according to reports, they broke windows and set fire to the facilities.

About 60 rioting prisoners wreaked havoc at the Justice Center on the second and third floors of the facility, which began at about 8:45 p.m., police told KTVI.

Footage posted on social media by KSDK reporter Casey Nolan shows that a number of inmates break third-floor windows while witnesses below cheer them on.

Several inmates held signs outside the windows, according to footage posted by Real Stl News on Facebook, with the caption “Free Ace” and “Free LJ.”

No one escaped during the chaos, although the prisoners did land a temporary rope from the third floor to a second floor, according to social media.

At around 22:20, police officers cleaned the prisoners of windows, KSDK reported. Shortly afterwards, firefighters extinguished a fire started by the prisoners.

Prisoners then broke windows and set fire to the back of the building, according to reports. The second fire was also extinguished by firefighters.

Sunday night’s chaos comes about two months after 117 prisoners broke free from the cells at the jai and caused similar devastation, setting the fire and breaking windows, according to KSDK.
