Prince William, Kate Middleton, honors ‘dedicated spouse’ Prince Philip on Twitter shortly after his funeral

Prince William and Kate Middleton honor Prince Philip with a post on Twitter after his royal funeral on Saturday.

The Duke of Edinburgh died on April 9 at the age of 99 and his grandson had earlier reflected on the wife’s commitment to family and service in a statement released shortly after the news of Philip’s death was confirmed.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge issued another tribute to Philip shortly after his celebration of life ceremony ended.

“The Duke of Edinburgh has been a devoted wife to Her Majesty the Queen for almost 70 years, from the time of Her Majesty’s accession in 1952 until his death,” the short statement posted on their official Twitter page read.

The words in honor of Philip come with two photos of the funeral, one of which stands behind Philip’s coffin and the other with William and his brother, Prince Harry, along with other family members holding the coffin in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle follows.

The royal couple were not the only people to honor Philip shortly after the funeral. The Royal Family’s Twitter Account shares a picture of Philip tilting his hat next to the caption: “In loving remembrance of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”

However, the duo sparked rumors of reconciliation after being seen leaving the St. Leaving George Chapel together side by side.

In addition to Princess William and Harry, the rest of Philip’s eight grandchildren – Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise and James, Count Severn – were also present.

Harry, 36, did not walk with his brother William, 38, during the march. The two walked with family members behind their grandfather’s coffin with their cousin Peter Philips walking in between them.
