Prince Philip spends third night in London hospital after being admitted for ‘precaution’

Prince Philip spent a third night in a London hospital after being admitted earlier this week for feeling unwell.

The 99-year-old husband of British Queen Elizabeth II was admitted to the private King Edward VII Hospital on Tuesday night. There were no reports of visitors arriving at the private hospital on Thursday.

The palace said Philip was admitted on the advice of his doctor, and that he was expected to stay there for a few days of ‘observation and rest’.

It is not believed that Philip’s disease is related to COVID-19. Both the queen (94) and Philip received a first dose of coronavirus vaccine in early January.

During England’s current exclusion of the coronavirus, the Duke of Windsor Castle, west of London, stayed with the Queen, performing duties such as meetings with dignitaries at a distance.

The royal household plans to celebrate celebrations in celebration of Philip’s hundredth birthday on June 10, with restrictions that may be allowed.
