Prince Philip’s death will have long-term consequences for his family.
The Duke of Edinburgh died on Friday at the age of 99 after 73 years of marriage to Queen Elizabeth II.
Now two of Philip’s children – Princess Anne and Prince Edward – have paid tribute to their late father.
In the interviews recorded by ITV for broadcast after the death of the spouse, Princess Royal (70) reflected on Philip’s impact.

‘Without him [life] will be completely different, “she said. But I also think from the perspective of society, he could keep up with the kind of technological changes that have such an impact. “
She added: “But at the end of it all, it’s not about the technology, it’s about the people.”
Anne is the only daughter of Elizabeth and Philip. She is only produced by Prince Charles, who will accept the throne after his mother. Elizabeth and Philip were also parents to Prince Andrew and Edward – of whom the latter also conducted a similar interview.

Philip was “always there”, said Edward, 57, and also called his late father “always encouraging” and “never pushing”.
“My parents were such fantastic supporters of each other during all the years and all the events and all the tours as well as all the events abroad,” the Earl of Wessex continued.

He went on to talk about the love his parents shared.

“Having someone you trust and smile about something you may not be able to smile at in public is very, very important. It’s extremely important to be able to share it with someone.”
Furthermore, Edward took note of Philip’s sense of humor, which ‘always’ had an impact.

He added: “I think I will remember my father in different ways – both for what he did in his public life, for all the organizations he supported and influenced. It is clear that my father and my husband and my mother and all the work that is done there, I think as a family, we will probably always remember it more than anything else. ‘
