Prince Harry mourns his ‘Cheeky’ grandfather Prince Philip: ‘He was authentic himself’

Prince Harry remembered his ‘brutal’ grandfather in a moving statement on Monday, minutes after his brother, Prince William, released a separate tribute.

“My grandfather was a man of service, honor and humor. He was genuine himself, with a serious sharp mind, and could keep the attention of any room because of his charm – and also because you never knew what he would say next, ‘the Duke of Sussex said of Prince Philip in’ a statement he shared with HuffPost.

“He will be remembered as the longest-serving ruler for the Monarch, a decorated conscript, a prince and a duke,” Harry continued. “But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent because of the pain of the past year, he was my grandfather: master of the braai, legend of jokes and brutal to the end.”

“He was a rock for her majesty The Queen with unparalleled devotion to her side for 73 years of marriage,” he added. “And while I could go on, I know that at the moment he would say to all of us with beer in hand, ‘Oh, go on! ”
