Meghan Markle and Prince Harry put their best foot forward as they begin the New Year and reload the site for their nonprofit organization, Archewell, with a personal touch.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who visited the newly restored website, shared two childhood photos to the website’s home page and that’s an understatement.
One image shows a young Prince Harry, now 36, sitting on the shoulders of his mother, Princess Diana, while the late royal smile flashes. The second photo is equally sweet and shows Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, kneeling next to her young daughter, now 39 – both smiling as Ragland holds Markle, wearing a dress with puffed shoulders and a thick white collar.
“I’m the son of my mother. And I’m the son of our son. Together we bring you Archewell,” the couple wrote in their “Letter for 2021” on the website they initially launched in October.

“We believe in the best of humanity. Because we have seen the best of humanity. We have experienced compassion and kindness, from our mothers and strangers,” the letter read. “Despite fear, struggle and pain, it can be easy to lose sight of it. Together we can choose to put compassion into action.
“We invite you to join us as we work for a better world, one act of compassion at a time,” the couple concludes the letter with their signatures – “Harry & Meghan.”

The newly reconfigured website took off days after Markle and Harry dropped their first podcast episode of Archewell Audio on Spotify. The couple started making their podcasting by sharing a cameo of their 1-year-old son, Archie.
The name of the young royal and the name of his parents’ non-profit organization are derived from the Greek word ‘arche’, which means’ source of action ‘, couples said in a statement shortly after becoming senior members of the royal family retired.

“We linked this concept to the charity we were hoping for one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name,” they wrote.
“To do something meaningful, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for power and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we must each utilize. We look forward to then launch Archewell when the time is right. ‘
