According to critics, the timing of Prince Harry’s recent interview with James Corden is considered ‘unhelpful’ because they stole attention from Queen Elizabeth’s COVID-19 vaccine.
“When the Queen speaks, as she did about the vaccine, it is assumed that she has a clear field,” a source told the Daily Mail about Harry’s appearance Thursday on ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’
News of Harry’s late-night conversation filled the British media on Friday morning, hours after the queen tried to give the vaccine a shot, with an address in which she urged the British public to be arrested, according to Sky News.
She even tried to get attention by talking about her own health issues – an extraordinary step she rarely takes – saying it “did not hurt at all” when given the chance.
Roy Jobson, an expert on the royals, believes that the timing of the predictable outcome of Harry’s talk show has trampled on the Queen’s important pandemic message.
“Timing is not everything,” he told the Daily Mail. ‘On the day that the Queen issued a very, very important message about the whole nation that got the jackpot, the message was kind of blurred by Harry, the man who wants a private life, and again about his private life speaks. ”
Harry’s conversation with Corden was filmed before the Queen confirmed the non-involvement of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle as senior royals.
During his television outing through Los Angeles with Corden, Harry said he never intended to give up his position altogether.
“It never walked away – it walked back rather than retiring,” he told Corden. He also claims that the British press wreaked havoc on his mental health.
Corden may have broadcast the interview Thursday in an attempt to beat Oprah Winfrey, as the media icon also concluded an interview with Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“While the Queen encourages us to think of others, Prince Harry peeks into LA and makes the absurd claim that he did not run away from the royals,” Roy Dalsier, an expert from the Royals, told the Daily Mail. ‘On what planet is he? Hollywood I assume. ”
