Prince Harry humiliated: Queen’s request for Megxit rejected in a brutal battle of ‘two seconds’ Royal | News

In November, the Duke of Sussex was denied permission to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph on his behalf. Prince Harry made a personal request to Buckingham Palace, but court officials denied it on the grounds that he no longer represented the monarchy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex retired early last year as senior members of the royal family.

Her majesty, according to an insider, took ‘already two seconds’ to make her decision on the cliff affair.

Prince Harry is apparently ‘deeply saddened’ by the queen’s decision, according to the Daily Mail’s royal correspondent Rebecca English.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry move to the US with their baby son Archie in March.

In November, the Sussexes released photos of themselves holding flowers at the Los Angeles National Cemetery.

According to sources in the palace, her majesty refused the duke’s request and, according to the newspaper, made her decision “in less than one minute”.

An insider said: ‘Remembrance Sunday is sacred when it comes to Her Majesty’s Diary, it is one of the most important dates in her calendar and nothing is done without her knowledge. ‘

They added: ‘People suggested that the palace respond to what Harry asked, but that was the queen’s decision.

Since retiring from the royal service, the Sussexes have entered into agreements with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify.

It is understood that their job choices may affect the type of relationship they will have with the firm in the future.

A source told the Daily Mail: ‘Coming back will mean they have to undo all the commercial commitments they’ve already made, and Harry and Meghan clearly do not want to do that.

Harry and Meghan are clear where they want to be, and good luck to them.

“But their career choices thereafter have exacerbated the chances of retaining even a quasi-official royal role.”

Royal commentators urged the queen to remove the Sussex’s royal titles.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan took to Twitter to explode the couple for their ‘shameful’ use of the royal titles.

He wrote: ‘I think they are some filthy little ones who are exploiting their royal titles for great commercial gain, while doing nothing of the duty that a member of the royal family entails.

“It’s shameless, shameful and the queen has to stop them from doing it by removing the titles.”
