Prince Charles wanted to issue detailed rebuttal to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle interview: report

Prince Charles has so far kept quiet about the allegations Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, but he does not want to believe it.

According to The Sun, the Prince of Wales apparently wanted to counter a detailed, “point by point” rebuttal of the allegations made by his son and daughter-in-law.

The 72-year-old was presumably ‘deeply’ upset about the claims of racism and the fact that Harry said Charles had stopped taking his calls.

Harry also claims that Charles and his brother, Prince William, are “trapped” in the family system and cannot leave because they are the next heirs.

“There were different reactions when the palace worked out what to do,” a source said. “One, to take the queen’s position, to issue the silent statement and say that we are unhappy to hear that they were unhappy. But Prince Charles wanted to refute the allegations point by point,” the source said royal family decided against it. ‘

Queen Elizabeth issued her statement on Tuesday. It reads: ‘The whole family is sad to learn the full extent of how challenging Harry and Meghan have been over the past few years. The issues raised in particular are important. Although some memories may vary, it is very particularly serious and will be addressed privately by the family. ‘

William responded independently to allegations of racism when asked by a reporter during an event on Thursday.

Markle, who is biracial, said in the interview that she was so isolated and miserable as a working member of the royal family that she had suicidal thoughts. She also said Harry told her that there was a royal family member having ‘concerns and conversations’ about the color of her baby’s skin when she was pregnant with their son, Archie.

Winfrey told Gayle King on Monday that although he “pressed on and off” Prince Harry about who was part of the talks, he would not say.
