Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have taken a poignant outing to pay tribute to the public to Prince Philip, who passed away last Friday at the age of 99.
The couple visited the gardens of Marlborough House in London on Thursday to see flowers and condolences left behind by members of the public outside Buckingham Palace for Prince Philip.
While Prince Charles (72) recorded the tributes to his father – including a bench decorated with handmade cards and artwork, a Land Rover toy (the Duke’s favorite vehicle manufactured by the Duke) and thousands of bouquets – he appeared emotional. It also looks like Camilla (73) is wiping away the tears.

In a video message released Saturday, Charles said he believes his father would be “surprised” at the outpouring of love and support.
“My dear Dad was a very special person who I think would be amazed at the response and the moving things that were said about him, and from that point of view, we, my family, are very grateful for it all,” said the eldest child. of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth said. “It will support us in this particular loss and in this particularly sad time.”
Prince Philip’s funeral will be held on Saturday in the St. George’s Chapel held in Windsor Castle. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Duke of Edinburgh will be laid to rest, surrounded only by close relatives and friends.
“Ironically, this is probably how he would have liked,” former Palace spokeswoman Ailsa Anderson told VOLK in this week’s issue. “No fuss, no hassle. Throughout his life he never knew what the fuss was about.”
Saturday’s service will be known as a ceremonial royal funeral and not as a state funeral, which is usually reserved for monarchs. The funeral plans take into account the country’s COVID guidelines and are “greatly reduced without public access”, a palace spokesman announced at the weekend.

The funeral will take place entirely on the grounds of Windsor Castle and the Queen has given final approval, but it still reflects the Duke’s personal wishes. The event will continue the Duke’s life and his more than four 70 years of service to the Queen, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. ‘
