Pregnant influencer Emily Mitchell’s cause of death has come to light

A medical investigator has determined the cause of death for Emily Mitchell, a lifestyle influencer who tragically died with her unborn child, a few days before Christmas.

Mitchell, who was expecting her fifth child, was eating breakfast on the morning of December 22 when she suddenly stopped responding. Attempts to save the 36-year-old and her fetus were unsuccessful.

The Rhode Island-based blogger, who runs the Hidden Way Instagram account, has died of a pulmonary embolism, according to a GoFundMe page for the family, which released the medical investigator’s findings on Tuesday.

A pulmonary embolism has a clot in the veins of the person’s lungs. The condition is common but can be fatal. Pregnant women often run a higher risk.

A friend announced the update on behalf of Mitchell’s husband, Joseph.

‘A few days ago we learned from the state’s medical investigators’ council that the official cause of death was a pulmonary embolism. While it’s a challenge to turn our heads about how this could have happened, we know that all first responders and medical staff did everything in their power to help, and therefore we are sure it was simply her time; the Lord called her home. ”

On November 19, Mitchell shared the news of her latest pregnancy with her 174,000 followers. It is unclear when the baby, whom the couple named Joey, should have been guilty. On December 8, she wrote to her followers that she would undergo her fifth caesarean section.

Her social media account shared the pros and cons of raising and homeschooling her four children, Finn, Isla, Edie and Luna, as well as faith.

“Emily had a beautiful smile and a friendly, compassionate spirit, beautiful inside and out,” reads her online obituary. Her exuberant personality radiated outwardly in her interactions and relationships with everyone who knew her. Emily was a symbol of strength during the most difficult time for so many. ‘
