Pregnant Dallas woman, Fort Worth boy under ten, among the latest victims of COVID-19 in North Texas

Dallas County reported 1,303 new cases of coronavirus and another 30 deaths from COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Among the victims were a pregnant Dallas woman in her 20s and an Irving woman in her 30s who recovered from a COVID-19 case six months ago but became infected again. Meanwhile, a Fort Worth boy was younger than ten among 36 recently reported victims in Tarrant County.

Most of the youngest victims in Dallas County were in their 50s or older, and there were only two who did not have underlying high-risk health conditions. Ten Dallas residents, six lived in Irving and four from Mesquite. Two were each from Garland, Grand Prairie and Seagoville, and one each lived in Carrollton, Coppell, DeSoto and Saxony.

County Judge Clay Jenkins said in a written statement that February would be a difficult month as people infected with the coronavirus in December and January died of COVID-19, but that new cases were declining and that residents could helps keep numbers low.

Of the new cases, 1,187 were confirmed and 116 likely. The numbers bring the province’s total case to 269,565, including 236,925 confirmed and 32,640 likely. The death toll is 2,482.

Health officials use hospitalizations, admissions for intensive care and emergency visits as key statistics to track the real-time impact of COVID-19 in the country. According to the state, 205,457 people in Dallas County received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, while 62,242 were fully vaccinated.

Across the state, another 13,523 cases were reported, including 12,966 new cases and 557 older cases recently reported by laboratories.

The state also reported 301 COVID-19 deaths, which increased its toll to 39,001.

Of the new cases, 10 378 were confirmed and 2 588 probable. Of the older cases, 469 were confirmed and 88 probable.

The case of the state is now 2,504,556, including 2,177,572 confirmed and 326,984 likely.

According to the state, 2,549,120 people in Texas received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, while 842,870 were fully vaccinated.

Tarrant county

Tarrant County reported 893 cases of coronavirus and 36 deaths on Tuesday.

Most of the victims were in their 50s and older, but one was a boy from Fort Worth younger than 10. Sixteen of the 36, including the boy, were residents of Fort Worth, while eight lived in Arlington. Three were from Mansfield, two lived in Euless and one from Azle, Haltom City, Hurst, Kennedale, Lake Worth, North Richland Hills and River Oaks. Both, but two, had underlying high-risk health conditions.

Of the new cases, 812 were confirmed and 81 likely. That number brings the province’s case to 230,981, including 197,551 confirmed and 33,430 likely. The death toll is 2,509.

Denton County reported 681 cases of coronavirus on Tuesday. No additional deaths were reported.

According to the state, 4,666 people in Denton County received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, while 16,010 were fully vaccinated.
