Powerpuff’s live cast fits on photos in the first set

The first photos from the live adaptation of The Powerpuff Girls show how the heroes are dressed in their brand colors and take to the skies.

The Powerpuff Girls is ready for their live-action series, and nothing is going to keep them on the ground.

In a behind-the-scenes look at the shooting for the program’s launch shared by TMZ, the three main characters make their first appearance as Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Dressed in their brand colors, the girls demonstrate their superpowers with Blossom being launched skyward for a flight effect.

Several photos and a short video clip are available from a scene that will be filmed on Wednesday, April 7 in Atlanta, GA. This is the first time fans have seen what the live-action Powerpuffs in costume looks like.

Blossom, played by Agents of SHIELD‘s Chloe Bennet, is in a simple pink dress with a giant bow in her hair as she performs the trick. She is flanked by Dove Cameron as Bubbles and Yana Perrault as Buttercup, who is also dressed in versions of the outfits of their cartoons, with Bubbles blue and Buttercup green. Another star of the show, Donald Faison, was also on set.

Faison plays Professor Utonium, the benevolent scientific genius who created the girls, while Nicholas Podany as the villain Mojo Jojo Jr.

Created by Craig McCracken, The Powerpuff Girls made its debut on Cartoon Network in 1998 and was produced for the first four seasons by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Cartoon Network Studios for the remaining two. The series focuses on three preschool-age girls – Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup – who live in the fictional suburb of Townsville, USA, with their father, Professor Utonium, who creates them by accidentally adding ‘Chemical X’ to a mix add. meant to spawn the perfect little girls. The three pint-sized heroes use their impressive array of abilities to fight such recurring enemies as Mojo Jojo and Him.

The CW’s live action on the comic book classic was announced in August 2020 and features a new version of the heroes of the same name portraying them as disillusioned girls in their twenties and trying to find new direction in their lives.

Powerpuff plays Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault, Donald Faison and Nicholas Podany. The pilot must receive another release date.
