Powerball, Mega Millions jackpots among the largest in American history

Two of the biggest jackpots in American lottery history are still growing.

The Powerball, which is the 8th largest jackpot, amounts to $ 640 million. The chance of winning is one in 292.2 million.

The Powerball Jackpot number was 14, 20, 39, 65, 67 from Saturday’s draw. The Powerball number is 2.

Another of the biggest jackpots in American history will be even bigger, as there was no winner for the award of the Mega Millions’ top prize of $ 750 million on Friday.

The numbers were 3, 11, 12, 38, 43, with a Mega Ball of 15 and would have drawn the fifth largest jackpot ever.

There were many smaller winners on Friday.

Mega Millions estimates that its next top prize would be $ 850 million, which would be the third largest of all time. The drawing is Tuesday.

It has been almost two years since a lottery jackpot became so big. No one won both months’ top prize.

The listed jackpot amounts refer to winners who opt for an annuity paid over 30 years. Winners almost always choose cash prizes, which for Powerball would amount to $ 478.7 million. The estimated cash price for the next Mega Millions jackpot is $ 628.2 million.

Mega Millions and Powerball are both played in 45 states as well as Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball is also offered in Puerto Rico.
