The Powerball jackpot for the lottery on Wednesday climbed an estimated $ 730 million with a cash option of $ 546 million, making it possibly the fifth largest in U.S. lottery history.
The winning numbers were: 40, 53, 60, 68, 69. The Powerball draw was 22 with a Power Play of 3X.

If anyone wins the jackpot, it’s the fourth biggest Powerball win.
While no one won the $ 639.4 million Powerball jackpot on Saturday, 16 second-prize tickets were sold across the country. Three were purchased in Texas, two were sold in California, and one was purchased in Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Each corresponds to five numbers, but not the Powerball.
The New Hampshire and Pennsylvania tickets are valued at $ 2 million each because they were purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $ 1. The California tickets are valued at $ 536,063 each. Lotto prices in California vary depending on ticket sales and the number of winners. This differs from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.
The others are worth $ 1 million apiece.
In New Jersey, some $ 50,000 third-prize tickets were sold – one in Fort Lee and one in the Manahawkin branch of Stafford, lottery officials said.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 14, 20, 39, 65, 67. The Powerball Draw was 2 with a Power Play of 3X.
The Powerball jackpot has not been won since September 16, when someone who bought a ticket in Ballston Spa, New York, won the highest prize of $ 94.6 million. Since then, 35 drawings have been held without a jackpot winner.
The chance to win the Powerball jackpot is 292,201,388 against 1. The player who buys a $ 2 ticket has a chance of 1 out of 11,688,053 to match five numbers and win at least $ 1 million, while the chance 913,129 to 1 is around the third prize of at least $ 50,000.
Powerball is played Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington DC, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your profits – provided they are less than $ 599.50 – in person at any dealer.
The lottery also accepts claims by mail, although officials warn that payments may be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the claim form and the winning ticket for their records.
