Portless ‘iPhone 13’ can recover iOS without the need for a cable

A version of the “iPhone 13” that does not have a Lightning port could force changes to repair processes, according to a report, with an “Internet recovery” mode that allows iOS reset without turning on the iPhone Connect a Mac or Computer.

To repair an unresponsive iPhone, it usually needs to be connected to another device, usually via the Lightning port on the base. If rumors about a portless iPhone are true, the lack of a Lightning port or any other standard physical connection can make it difficult to maintain the device.

Apple is reportedly looking for ways to get it installed on iOS on an iPhone that does not respond without a clear physical connection. Based on rumors of Appleosophy, is the most important way to do this through something tentatively called ‘Internet Recovery’.

Apple’s software teams are said to be investigating three ways to turn the iPhone into a mode that allows it to recover.

The first method involves a user placing the iPhone in a manual recovery mode, which causes the Internet Restore broadcast. It is recorded by nearby Macs or a computer with iTunes installed, which will provide directions to guide the user through the rest of the repairs.

The second way is that the device itself automatically goes into mode and brings up the same directions again. A third apparently involves the use of Bluetooth as a ‘last resort’ measure to transmit the signal and for data transmissions.

It is believed that Apple is interested in using the first two methods of recovery options, and has apparently been testing the processes for a while. However, it is claimed that the processes are currently too slow for public use, indicating that more work is needed on them.

While wireless recovery options are the main focus of the effort, physical access is still not completely forgotten. A hardware team is apparently considering using pogo booklets to start a physical connection, without having a standard port available.

At the moment, it is suggested that Apple could hide the blocks on the back of the SIM card slot and use a custom SIM card cable to connect to it.

Hidden ports are not new to Apple, as is the back of the Apple TV as well as the Apple Watch. However, it is claimed that the team working on the problem is not allowed to make housing adjustments, such as protecting the cushions behind a door or panel, which could make development more difficult.

Port-less iPhone rumors have been circulating over the years, but so far this has not been proven right. The relative lack of a record for the outlet also makes it difficult to consider how genuine the rumor is currently.

The “iPhone 13” is currently rumored to always have an exhibit that can also work at 120Hz, a four-camera system on the back with LiDAR, minimal notch and the return of Touch ID.
