Portia de Rossi admitted to hospital for appendicitis

Portia de Rossi has been admitted to hospital with appendicitis, Fox News has learned.

The 48-year-old actress underwent surgery on Friday and is now recovering with her wife Ellen DeGeneres, according to a report in People magazine.

A rep of the couple told the outlet that things are going well with de Rossi.

The “Arrested Development” star is not the only one who has struggled with health recently. DeGeneres (63) tested positive for COVID-19 in December 2020.

The couple married in August 2008 after same-sex marriage was legalized in California.

“We grew up together as a couple, and we really consider each other and put our relationship first,” de Rossi told the magazine earlier about their relationship. “By doing that, you become much more solid. I can not imagine spending time with anyone other than her.”

DeGeneres added. “We think the same things, say the same things at the same time, finish each other’s sandwiches – no, sentences. We’re in a rhythm that’s easy.”

The couple insisted that they still have to find new things daily to appreciate from each other.

“To begin with, I like the way she looks,” DeGeneres said of her wife. “I like her brain; she’s smart. It’s really important. She’s strong. She’s confident. She’s really funny. And she’s a good dresser and a good dancer. She’s learning to cook.”

The Emmy winner also spoke about how de Rossi stood by her side when she faced an investigation last year after several former employees claimed a toxic work environment.

“It broke my heart,” DeGeneres admitted at the end of the allegations. “I could not have gone through everything without her. It was a terrible time in my life, and she was a rock. She kept me going and tried to help me put things in perspective.”
