A classic PS1 RPG is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC this summer. While the PS2 is the more well-known and beloved nostalgic PlayStation console, the PS1 has had some of the best and most classic role-playing games, including Legend of Mana, which is now being revived and re-strengthened for the above platforms. And as you’d expect, the remaster comes with updates and enhancements that do not radically change or revamp a game, but do add a touch of modernity.
According to Square Enix, the remaster will come with enhanced footage, a rearranged soundtrack and the ‘Ring Ring Land’ mini-game, which was previously exclusive to Japanese versions of the game. In addition, the game is exactly how you remember it.
“If they step into the shoes of the protagonist, they will go on a journey to find the mystical Mana tree seen in a dream, only to discover that the world map is empty,” reads an official pitch of the remaster. “During their adventure, they will acquire special artifacts that can be mapped to bring villages and dungeons alive through the Land Creation system. Players can progress through the story in different ways, based on the choices they make and offer.” a more personal and unique gaming experience. “
For those who do not know: Legends of Mana is an action RPG that launched in 1999 via Square Enix and via the original PlayStation. The fourth match in the Mana series follows it in 1995s Trials of Mana, and started with strong sales, but did not live up to previous criticisms on a critical scale. In 2021, it’s a cult classic, so it’s being remastered and reissued.
Even better for fans of the classic PS1 game, it will appear soon. In addition to unveiling all of this, Square Enix also unveiled that the remaster will be released on June 24th.
