Poll: Will this year’s new iPhone be the ‘iPhone 12S’ or ‘iPhone 13’?

Rumors about what to expect from the 2021 iPhone have started to steam, and it looks more and more like it will be an ‘S’ year. This comes after the iPhone 12 brought a major redesign among other changes, but we want to know what you think: What’s the iPhone update of this year called?

Recently a Bloomberg the report stated that the iPhone is expected to offer minor upgrades compared to the iPhone 12. In fact, the report stated that engineers within Apple are considering the next iPhone as an ‘S’ version of the device.

Leaker Jon Prosser also indicated that this year’s iPhone could bet on the iPhone 12S rather than the iPhone 13.

It is said that there are still some improvements on the table for the iPhone 12S. Several reports have indicated that Apple is testing a fingerprint reader on the screen that, in addition to Face ID, could also move to the iPhone this year.

A recent supply chain report also indicated that the iPhone 12S will feature a smaller notch. Apple was apparently able to redesign and reduce the size of the TrueDepth camera system located inside the notch. The notch size has remained virtually the same since the iPhone X.

Finally, supply chain reports have also indicated that the 2021 iPhone series could include significant improvements to display technology, including ProMotion support and even the possibility of a continuous display similar to the Apple Watch.

Something else to consider is that there is a lot of negativity associated with the number 13. In many countries around the world, the number 13 is associated with bad luck. Whether that would be reason for Apple to skip the iPhone 13 brand altogether is unclear, but it’s something you can think about.

What do you think? Will this year the iPhone be the iPhone 12S or the iPhone 13? Or could it be the year that Apple dropped the numbers completely? Let us know in the poll below and give your reasoning in the comments!
