Poll: What ports and features do you want to return or arrive on the Mac21 Pro 2021?

Today we got some exciting news from Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg about the next generation MacBook Pro notebooks. Although we already know some of the details like 14- and 16-inch screen sizes and the transition to Apple Silicon, an expansion of I / O outside of USB-C ports, the return of MagSafe, a new design and more now predict. Which ports and features would you most like to introduce to the next-generation MacBook Pro?

The reports of Mark Gurman of Kuo and Bloomberg today agree on the whole, with some slight differences on some aspects.

New MacBook Pro design

A big picture, according to the reports, we are looking at a new square design similar to the iPhone 12 and iPad Pro series. Kuo calls it an important redesign, while Gurman changes it as a small change.

Ditching the Touch Bar

Kuo says that Apple is dropping the Touch Bar, and Bloomberg says that the company is testing the next generation MacBook Pro models without a Touch Bar, but that this has not been done yet.

MagSafe returns

In terms of the information that both agree on, the return of MagSafe is one of the most interesting. That would be a fascinating twist as Apple has switched to the USB-C / Thnderbolt since the 2016 update with the MacBook Pro series.

Bloomberg added the details that the revamped MagSafe for the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros loads faster.

I / O

Another exciting prediction is that Kuo says the new MacBook Pro models will include more built-in I / O ports. He did not specifically say which one, but the pre-2016 models have an SD card slot, HDMI and USB-A.

mini-LED

Another detail that Bloomberg shared is that it will be Apple’s first notebooks with mini-LED technology. Read more about it in our complete guide here.

More

Interestingly, Apple asked customers for feedback on what they would change to the 2020 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro. Most of the votes for the 9to5Mac reader change last month were a slimmer edge / updated design.
