Police: Man (32), arrested, allegedly entering more than 1,000 unlocked vehicles | Southeast Pennsylvania

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. A man has been arrested and charged with burglary, theft and related offenses. According to Buckingham police, the man apparently entered more than 1,000 unlocked vehicles.

According to police, Keith Johnson (32) of Yardley was allegedly involved in thefts in 13 municipalities in Bucks County and 10 municipalities in New Jersey.

According to authorities, surveillance video and a joint investigation involving many agencies led them to the suspect.

In mid-February 2020, Buckingham Township began experiencing overnight thefts from unlocked vehicles. Several of the thefts took place between 3:00 and 06:00. A surveillance video of the thefts was obtained and the actor was wearing a mask from a ‘corridor’, dark sweatpants, gloves and a suitcase, police said.

According to police, many Bucks County municipalities also experienced the same type of theft over the next few months, while the same actor was caught on a surveillance video.

Information about these thefts was shared with police departments in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In October 2020, members of the task force found that a stolen credit card from New Jersey had been used in a convenience store in Pennsylvania, police said.

In January 2021, Johnson identified the investigation as a possible suspect. Information was developed which, according to police, led to the execution of two (2) warrants, the last of which was at Johnson’s home in Yardley.

Police say coins, handbags, gift cards and dozens of other items were seized as a result of the search warrant.

The investigation continues as more information is developed, police said.

Authorities say Johnson’s arrest was made possible with the cooperation of many law enforcement agencies.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective Tim Johnson at 215-794-8813.
