Police investigate after two people were shot outside Buckhead bars – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Police are investigating a shooting outside a Buckhead bar strip in which two people were injured.

Police were responding to reports of a person being shot at Peachtree Road 3179 near Red Martini and Moondogs bar around 3am on Saturday.

Officers found one man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital. His name and condition have not been released.

When police were at the scene, police learned that a second man had also been shot and drove them to the hospital themselves. The victim’s name and condition were also not disclosed.

Investigators have learned that a third person apparently involved may be the shooter.

The investigation continues.

This latest shooting comes after numerous shooting incidents in the area over the past year.

Channel 2’s Audrey Washington spoke to a local doctor in Buckhead and said crime in the area is out of control.

“If you have Atlanta police on Facebook and say, ‘Before you shoot someone, you have to think about it,’ which shows you how out of control the situation is,” Jack Potter said. “So I do not know what can be done.”

Buckhead discusses it becoming his own city to try to reduce crime. There is also a new program to increase bicycle patrols in the area.
