NEW MIAMI, Ohio (AP) – A police bomb squad responding to a suspicious call at a church in Ohio has made an unexpected discovery: six newborn kittens and their mother in a suitcase.
According to the sheriff of Butler County, his bomb squad was called to a church in New Miami on Thursday. When officers heard responders instead of typing from the black bag, they used their X-ray machine to see what was in it.
The old kittens and their mother were found, along with a note saying they were born on Wednesday.
“Mom’s name is Sprinkles,” reads the note. “She started giving birth at 14:00”
A post on the sheriff’s Facebook page said the mother and kittens were “doing well, they are warm, cozy and nourished.” They were cared for in a local human society.
