Pokémon turns 25! | Pokémon GO Hub

Pokémon turns 25 today! Amidst COVID-19, Pokémon still offer us great entertainment! The 25th anniversary celebration is not going to go away anytime soon as The Pokémon Company has announced a bunch of goodies that are going to be great!

New Pokémon Games

As announced during the recent Pokémon Presents broadcast, Sinnoh is getting a long-awaited remake! Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond will arrive late in 2021. On top of that comes a new Pokémon game also based on the Sinnoh region at the end of 2022.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is coming to the end of 2022 and yes … it’s like a Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Pokémon game. This is exactly what fans have been dreaming about since the release of Sword and Shield? An open world kind of game for the Pokémon series, and the boy delivered Game Freak! Add the Sinnoh treatment to the mix, and you’re a winner! So these are two remakes – well, almost – for the price of one!

Pokémon Events

During this entire week, Pokémon celebrates its 25th anniversary in various ways. In Pokémon GO, for example, we have the trio of birds in Raids plus Mewtwo, in the special Kanto-themed event announced on The Pokémon Company’s official website.

On top of that, if you have Pokémon sword and shield, you can claim a special Pikachu – yes, you can never get enough Pikachus – it knows the move Sing. Singing is not a step that Pikachu can learn on his own, so it is definitely a rare collection.

Special Pokémon P25 Music concert

The icing on the cake comes in the form of a special Pokémon-themed concert, live on Pokémon’s Twitch Channel and on the official Youtube Channel. At 19:00 ET both streaming platforms will be broadcast Pokémon P25, a special concert featuring artists performing special Pokémon theme songs to celebrate the occasion.

One of the confirmed artists is Place Malone. You can listen to Malone’s hit track Just want to be with you on Spotify, and yes, the Pokémon viibe is there, just listen carefully. The track is of course available on other music platforms, depending on your country’s availability.

But here’s the thing. On January 13, The Pokémon Company unveiled they have signed a special agreement with Universal Music Group, among which even more artists will participate in this year’s celebration.

Katy Perry, the popular pop artist, is one of the confirmed faces. In fact, Perry was the mastermind behind the P25 concert, where Post Malone will perform live. Does that mean Katy Perry will appear as well? And what other artists should they join? We have no idea, but it’s exciting!

Katy Perry will also take part in the P25 concert

The Pokémon Company has officially confirmed that additional details about Perry’s participation in the P25 program will be released throughout the year. It looks like P25 Music will last all year, rather than just tonight. Katy Perry issued a press release a few weeks ago:

‘Pokémon has been a constant in my life, from the original video games on my GameBoy, trading Pokémon cards at lunch, to the adventures of catching a few mouths in Pokémon GO’, ‘I even have Pokémon Café in Visiting Japan while I was on tour. It is a real honor to be chosen to help celebrate a franchise that has given so much to me over the past 25 years, and to be able to see it develop in ways that I have been able to share this kind of electric joy with children of my life. around the world ”

With all these things announced, it looks like the P25 program may have very good entertainment value. Stay tuned!

Farewell words

A franchise does not turn 25 every day. This year’s event is something different thanks to COVID-19 and overwhelming locks, yet we think TPCI is in no way cutting us short here.

I’m happy to write these rules, because Pokémon is one of the franchises I love the most – which is why I’m here – and more importantly, Pokémon GO has been a major help to my left since it was released in 2016.

Being able to be part of the community with so many wonderful people is something I am very grateful for. For me, the chance to be a part of GO Hub is truly amazing, and that’s mostly because Pokémon content is everywhere!

I think it’s honestly impossible to summarize the impact that Pokémon had on us in one article, but I think one thing’s clear: we need to thank Satoshi Tajiri for creating this world that brought us all together. Here’s another 25 years of Pokémon!
