How do I buy a ticket?

Tickets for Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto are now available in the in-app store! Tickets are USD $ 11.99 plus applicable taxes and fees (or the equivalent in your local currency). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

  1. Tap the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto image in the store.
  2. Tap on the Buy button.
  3. You will then see a pop-up window indicating that you have received a ticket for the Pokémon GO tour: Kanto.
  4. After typing OK, you can find the ticket in your Item Bag.
  5. When you tap the ticket in the Item Bag, a popup will appear allowing you to select a version.
  6. After confirming your version choice, you will receive a corresponding red / green medal in your profile.

Note: the version selection is final; you can not change your version once it has been selected.


What do I get with a ticket?

Ticket holders, here’s what you need to know.

  • Version selection: Your adventure will begin after selecting the Red Version of Green Version of the event. Do not know what to choose? Check out our blog here for more information on what makes each one unique.
  • Collection of Challenges: Once you start the event, you will have access to ten collection challenges, and it will be available until Sunday 28 February 2021 at 19:59 local time.
  • Special research: When you start your Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto Adventure, tap the Special Research icon after Professor Willow appears to claim your new special research. Once you do, it can be completed at any time during or after the event.
  • Masterpiece research: After the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto Special Research, you gain access to a new, more challenging type of research: Masterwork Research! Masterpiece research is designed to be completed over a long period of time, and the first story – All-in-One # 151 – will result in an encounter with Shiny Mew!
  • Free items: Make sure you claim the free article bundles in the store to boost your adventure! These packages are included with your ticket and give you three Remote Raid Passes and 200 Poké Balls.
  • Extra daily raids: Claim up to nine daily raids during the event.
  • Incense: Incense attracts version-exclusive Pokémon during the event, so make sure you use it!
  • Social media: Share photos on Twitter or Instagram with #PokemonGOTour, and you can see them in the app during the event!

What if I do not have a ticket?

No ticket? No problem!

All trainers can enjoy the following during the Pokémon GO tour: Kanto event.

  • Popular coach characters will appear as GO Tour Challengers during the event. Find and fight them at PokéStops to complete exclusive temporary research and earn rewards!
  • Develop certain Pokémon during the opportunity to get a Pokémon that knows an exclusive attack.
  • Evolve Ivysaur – the evolution of Bulbasaur – to get a Venusaurus that knows Frenzy Plant.
  • Evolve Wartortle – the evolution of Squirtle – to get a blastoise that knows Hydro Cannon.
  • Develop Charmeleon – the evolution of Charmander – to find a Charizard who knows Blast Burn.
  • Event entertainment to places from the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games will take place during the event. Check out the schedule here.
  • Turn up the volume! Each hour with a place theme features music inspired by Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, created by the original composer of the games, Junichi Masuda!

Do I have to choose a version? How do I choose it?

What is the difference between the Red version and the Green version?

Each version has a set of exclusive Pokémon (based on the original games). In addition, each version has a greater chance of encountering the shiny shapes of certain Pokémon. I chose Red Version, can I switch to Green Version (or vice versa)?

No, after selecting your version, your ticket version cannot be changed: choose carefully!


Why does my GO Tour medal in the app say ’02 .21 ‘?

The date format shown in medicine in the app is Month year, and does not include Day. The 02.21 that appears on your medal refers to February 2021.


Do I have to leave my house to take part in the GO Tour?

No, this event is designed to be playable at home if needed. To have the best possible experience, we recommend playing in a local park or other similar area; however, it is very important that you follow local health guidelines.


Do I need to be able to trade to complete the research?

No, you do not have to trade to complete special research. Since only certain Pokémon are available in each path, you must trade to complete some of the collection challenges and collect the first 150 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region. To help, we increased the trade distance limit to 40 km during the event.


Do I have to collect all 150 Pokémon to complete the special investigation / complete the event / etc.

No. Each collection challenge you complete will reward you and advance your Elite Collector badge, but you do not have to do this to experience all Pokémon GO Tour content.


Will all 150 Pokémon appear for each version?

There are exclusive versions of Pokémon that are not available to all ticket holders, but otherwise everyone has the same opportunity. Note that evolving forms will not appear in nature during the event.


How can I find a specific Pokémon?

See below for finding Pokémon during the GO Tour: Kanto Meeting Hours. This Pokémon appears in nature and is attracted to Incense during the famous hour with the place theme:

  • Pallet Town: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgey, Rattata, Spearow, Pikachu and Zubat
  • Pewter City: Nidoran-f, Nidoran-m, Clefairy, Paras, Diglett, Geodude, Magnemite, Onix, Voltorb and Rhyhorn
  • Cerulean City: Jigglypuff, Psyduck, Poliwag, Tentacool, Shellder, Krabby, Horsea, Goldeen, Staryu and Magikarp
  • Fuchsia City: Venonat, Abra, Ponyta, Grimer, Gastly, Drowzee, Exeggcute, Koffing, Omanyte en Kabuto
  • Pokémon League: Machop, Slowpoke, Doduo, Seel, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Jynx, Eevee, Porygon and Dratini

This Pokémon will not appear in the wild during the event. See below for how to deal with it:

  • Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr Mime, Tauros, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo will appear in Attacks.
  • Cubone, Lickitung, Chansey, Tangela, Lapras, Ditto, Aerodactyl and Snorlax will appear as reward encounters of the GO Tour: Kanto Special Research Tasks.
  • If you choose Red version this Pokémon will be attracted to Incense during the event: Ekans, Oddish, Mankey, Growlithe, Scyther and Electabuzz.
  • If you choose Green version these Pokémon will be attracted to Incense during the event: Sandshrew, Vulpix, Meowth, Bellsprout, Magmar and Pinsir.
  • Cubone, Lickitung, Chansey, Tangela, Lapras, Ditto, Aerodactyl and Snorlax appear as rewards encounters of the GO Tour: Kanto Special research tasks.
  • In addition, Lickitung, Chansey, Tangela, Lapras and Aerodactyl appear rare in nature throughout the event (not linked to a specific hour). If you are lucky, you can also encounter a Snorlax in the wild!

What is the event schedule? / When will a specific hour happen with a place theme?

Hours with location theme will rotate through the day. The event schedule (local time) is set out below:

First block

  • 09:00 to 10:00 – Pallet Town
  • 10:00 to 11:00 – Pewter City
  • 11:00 to 12:00 – Cerulean City
  • 12:00 to 13:00 – Fuchsia City
  • 13:00 to 14:00 – Pokémon League

Second block

  • 14:00 to 15:00 – Pallet Town
  • 3pm to 4pm – Pewter City
  • 16:00 to 17:00 – Cerulean City
  • 17:00 to 18:00 – Fuchsia City
  • 18:00 to 19:00 – Pokémon League

Last block

  • 19:00 to 21:00 – Pokémon from all previous hours will appear in nature

Do I have to complete the Special Research or Master’s thesis research by a deadline to meet Shiny Mew?

No, there is no deadline to complete the GO Tour: Kanto Special Research or the Masterwork research after completing the Special Research. Masterwork Research is meant to be completed over a long period of time, so take as long as you need.


How long do I have to complete the collection challenges?

All ten GO tours: Kanto collection challenges will be open until Sunday 28 February 2021 at 19:59 in your local time zone. With the exception of the Evolve & Trade challenges, we recommend completing them yourself during the event.


How can I collect enough candy to complete the Evolve Collection Challenge?

Pokémon caught during the GO Tour event will reward extra candy. You will be able to collect Candy for the version-exclusive Pokémon that are not in your version in two different ways: 1) trade with a friend 2) complete exclusive tasks for field research.


What if I do not have someone to deal with during the event?

It will not be possible to complete the “Trade” collection challenge without a trading partner, but you have until Sunday 28 February 2021 at 19:59 in your local time zone to meet all GO Tour Collection challenges.


What if I buy a ticket but can only play for part of the time? What if I did not complete the special research tasks during the period?

When you buy a ticket, we encourage you to play the maximum time you are able to enjoy the various bonuses activated during this period! The duration is fixed and will not change depending on when you sign up. We strongly recommend buying a ticket in advance to take full advantage of the bonuses.

Players with tickets will still have access to the Special Research after it is over as long as they sign up and take action in the game during that time (Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 9:00 to 9:00). pm local time) to collect the Special Research.

There will be no change to the rewards and there is no time limit to complete them, but the Special Research must be collected during the period.


I do not want to buy a ticket, can I still take part in the event?

Yes! These features will be available to all coaches during the event, even if you do not purchase a ticket:

  • Some Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will appear in the wild and in raids.
  • Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo will return to Legendary Raids! Check out the details in the official blog for the special special moves.
  • All coaches have access to exclusive time research for events.
  • Trade range will be increased to 40 km.

What is the GO Tour time trial?

The Timed Research is part of the free event experience and is available to all coaches (whether you have a ticket for the event) or not. Work to complete it and earn rewards by finding and fighting GO Tour Challengers at PokéStops. Follow local health and safety guidelines.


How can I get a refund?

Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto tickets are non-refundable. * * Subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service.
