Pokémon Go’s Team GO Rocket is back with more special research and another chance to challenge Giovanni. From February 28, 2021, coaches can launch The Higher They Fly, a six-step special investigation that rewards players with a Super Rocket Radar to track down the head of Team GO Rocket. What is Team GO Rocket anyway?
Team Rocket, based on the original antagonists of Pokémon, is a notorious criminal organization led by Giovanni. The group attempts to steal valuable Pokémon and force those Pokémon to advance Giovanni’s efforts. In Pokémon Go, the group is very similar, known as Team GO Rocket. Actually, these are the bad guys who have been missing since the first day in the game.

About once a month you can complete a special investigation to tackle their leader Giovanni and possibly rescue a legendary shadow Pokémon from him. Although these special research lines do not expire, you can only complete one per month, even if you have not completed them in recent months. Can I start right away?
Probably, but unlike some other special research, players must complete specific special research lines to launch The Shadowy Threat Grows. If you have not completed a disturbing situation and a Team GO Rocket Special Research series that has been started before, you need to complete it first. The higher they fly
After completing the previous Team GO Rocket Special Research lines, you will find The Higher They Fly in your list of special research. This special research is divided into six steps of three tasks each.
Step one
- Win an Attack for 15 PokéBalls.
- Defeat three Team GO Rocket Grunts for three Hyper Potions.
- Catch one Shadow Pokémon for three revivals.
Completion rewards: ten Razz berries, ten Nanab berries, ten Pinap berries.
Step two
- Catch five Shadow Pokémon for a Sun Stone.
- Make three beautiful Curveball throws in a row for 15 Great Balls.
- Catch ten flying Pokémon for a Doduo * encounter.
Completion Rewards: 10 Mega Pidgeot Energy, 1,500 XP, 500 Stardust.
Step three
- Pure five Shadow Pokémon for 30 Mega Pidgeot Energy.
- Defeat five Team GO Rocket Grunts for 30 Mega Pidgeot Energy.
- Earn three candy walks with your Buddy Pokémon for 30 Mega Pidgeot Energy.
Completion Rewards: Rocket Radar, Pidgeot Encounter, 2000 XP.
Step four
- Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Arlo for 1,250 XP.
- Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Cliff for 1,250 XP.
- Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Sierra for 1,250 XP.
Completion Rewards: Super Rocket Radar, 2500 XP, 1,000 Stardust.
Step five
- Search the Team Go Rocket Boss for five maximum drinks.
- Fight the Team Go Rocket Boss for 20 Ultra Balls.
- Defeat Team Go Rocket Boss for five Max Revives.
Completion Rewards: FastTM, ChargedTM, 3000 XP.
Step six
- AutoComplete for 2000 XP.
- AutoComplete for 2000 XP.
- AutoComplete for 2000 XP.
Completion Rewards: Premium Battle Pass, two Golden Razz Berries, two Silver Pinap Berries.
