Pokémon Go player becomes the world’s first to reach level 50

Pokémon Go now has his first 50 coach, an achievement that requires intense dedication and grinding.

FleeceKing streamed his level via Twitch on Monday, showing himself as the first 50 players in the game, with another coach, Lauren Bertoni, followed shortly afterwards. Both Bertoni and FleeceKing are from Australia.

Niantic has increased Pokémon Go‘s level limit of 40 to 50 in December 2020, although the requirements to ascend involved more than just acquiring XP. Hardworking Pokémon Go players must complete tasks to level, some of which are completed by time. A handful of players recently reached level 48, and while grinding to 49, their progress has been restored. To rectify this, Niantic raised the players involved, completed their tasks and pushed them to level 49.

To rise to 50 within the last day, FleeceKing and Bertoni had to cast 999 excellent, capture five legendary Pokémon and take down three Team Go Rocket Leaders with Pokémon with 2500 CP or less. All these tasks are nothing to mock, and their hard work has certainly borne fruit.
