How Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research in Pokémon Go Works

The Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research quest is part of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event in Pokémon Go and is only available to players who purchase a ticket for this event.

To unlock this taskbar, you must play Pokémon Go on Saturday 20 February between 09:00 (local time) and 21:00 (local time). This search does not have a deadline, and once unlocked, you can complete it on your own time.

The challenges you face will vary slightly depending on whether you are playing the Red or Green version of the event. Your chosen version will also determine the style of hat you will get during this dash line.

If you work through this dotted line, you will be rewarded with one of the hats.

Completing Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research will not only result in an encounter with a shiny Ditto, but also the Mew Masterwork Research quest, and that’s the best reward of a shiny Mew.

Once unlocked, Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research does not have a deadline, which means it can be completed after the accompanying event has ended. However, we recommend that you complete the taskbar during the actual Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, as it will be easier to complete a number of tasks.

Apart from this dashed line, the purchase of a ticket for the event will also unlock 10 collection collections – Pallet Town, Pewter City, Cerulean City, Fuchsia City, Pokémon League, Raid, Research, Evolve, Trade and Incense. The latter two differ depending on whether you are playing the Red or Green version of the event.

Pokémon Go Tour Completion Tips: Kanto Special Pokémon Go Research

Here are tips to help you complete the Pokémon Go tour: Kanto Special Research in Pokémon Go:

  • Although this special research timeline does not have a deadline, it is easier to complete it during the actual Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, thanks to the increased speed rate for certain Pokémon.
  • With Remote Raid Passes you can now participate in raids from your convenience. You can even pick up some Remote Raid Passes during the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event.
  • If you want to quickly earn hearts with your Pokémon mate, try feeding berries, playing with them or giving them a Poffin.
  • Problems with Nice Throws? Look for a Pokémon with a large catch beam like Mr. Mime, because it will make it easier to judge your throws.
  • If you have trouble finding a variety of Pokémon types, place one of the special lure modules – Glacial, Magnetic or Mossy – on a PokéStop. Each of these modules will attract a different type of Pokémon, making it easier for you to find a wide variety of creatures.
  • Incense will also attract Pokémon to your place, allowing you to find a wider variety of Pokémon.
