Pokémon GO and the Pokémon Trading Card Game Collaboration announced

Pokémon Trading Card game celebrates its 25th anniversary, just like the games Red and Green. To celebrate this anniversary, there will be a cross-collaboration between Pokémon GO and the Pokémon TCG.

The collaboration plans are pretty simple at the moment, though heartwarming, as Pokémon GO is officially recognized as part of the canon of the franchise:

  • In Part 1 of the collaboration, Professor Willow will appear as a Pokémon TCG card in the summer of 2021, marking the five-year anniversary of the release of Pokémon GO.
  • The Professor Willow Card is available in regions around the world where the Pokémon TCG is sold.
  • From late May 2021, Niantic plans to release the art and content of the Professor Willow map and details on how to obtain the map in each area.

Further cooperation will be announced as determined, but at present this is what we know. At present, there is only a limited amount of information surrounding the collaboration.
