This is not the first time this assumption has been made, but the specific rumor’s accurate allegations have been made recently, making it much more credible than simple speculation.
Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Eevee was released for the Nintendo Switch in 2018 and features a hybrid mechanics of the main games and Pokémon GO.
