Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes come to Nintendo Switch

The Pokémon Company has announced remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl during a video of Pokémon Presents on Friday.

The remade games are called Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, and they arrive at the end of 2021. The remakes will retain the game’s aesthetic, updated with a very cute, colorful new style. “The scope of the original games, towns and trails has been carefully preserved,” The Pokémon Company said during the video. Players can choose from the original three starter Pokémon: Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup. The legendary Pokémon for Brilliant diamond is Dialga, with Palkia for Shiny pearl.

In a news release, The Pokémon Company said Brilliant diamond and Shiny pearl has been updated to include ‘player-friendly convenience’ that has since appeared in newer Pokémon games, as well as close-up and personal Pokémon battle scenes. ‘

Brilliant diamond and Shiny pearl is developed by ILCA, Inc., the studio behind Pokémon House. ICLA’s Yuichi Ueda and Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda send the matches. (Masuda directed the original Diamond and Pearl games.)

Fans of the games are eager to hear about the Diamond and Pearl remakes; with 2021 as the 15th anniversary of the games, rumors have been circulating for a while. The Pokémon franchise itself will also see its 20th year of existence in 2021.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl was originally released in Japan in 2006; they came to the United States and elsewhere in 2007. It is part of the fourth generation Pokémon games and was released for the Nintendo DS system. More than 100 new Pokémon have been added to the games, along with many new features such as Wi-Fi compatibility played online.
