The rumors Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes may contain the catching mechanics of the Let’s Go games.
A recent Reddit report highlights a leak from 2019 that claims that “next year’s games are Sinnoh remakes with Let’s Go catching on.” While the often-rumored Diamond and Pearl remakes never surfaced in 2020, the post posts two more pieces of information that eventually came true; A Galactic Form and Evolution of Mime Mime and Fossil Pokémon […] made from combinations of fossils you put together, both of which appeared in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
While the lack of official information from Nintendo or The Pokémon Company means that you should definitely take this information with a pinch of salt, it is also possible that this information was correct in 2019, but the development schedules have changed due to the pandemic.
Rumors of a remake of the fourth generation Pokémon games started circulating in November and were backed up earlier this month with reports that the titles will be released this year as part of Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. 2019’s Sword and Shield did not use the Pokémon Go-style capture mechanic adapted for Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, but that does not mean that Nintendo could not return to the system or future Switch remakes.
When it comes to commemorating the anniversary, it sounds like we’re having a busy year. The Pokémon Company is bothering a lot over the next 12 months, starting things off with the announcement of a musical collaboration with Katy Perry.
