Sorry kids, adults seem to want happy meals too.
Happy Meals usually come with toys that are ideal for small children but that are not very much for adults. Recently, however, McDonald’s has released a Pokémon version of the baby food that is very popular with older customers – and it’s apparently harder for kids to find.
According to McDonald’s on Twitter, the new Happy Meal is popular with some restaurants selling or setting limits on how many Happy Meal items customers can buy.
McDonald’s with the Pokemon Company create the Happy Meal in honor of the 25-year existence of the multimedia franchise, Newsweek reports. The collaboration resulted in a Happy Meal box designed to look like Pikachu (one of the most recognizable Pokémon characters), as well as packs of special edition Pokemon trading cards, which must be included with every meal. There are 50 cards in the entire series of limited versions: 25 regular cards and 25 foil versions of each.

Due to the popularity of the idea among younger and older customers, some of the McDonald’s restaurants are no longer touching the Pokémon cards. It is also possible for customers to purchase additional packages with only one Happy Meal order, reports Fast Company.
Large quantities of card packages have since appeared on sites like eBay, where a set of ten packages can fetch up to $ 60.

On social media, many users complain that they could not find the cards, and some blame the online sellers for the shortage.
“I ordered a lucky meal from McDonald’s to get Pokémon cards, and they gave me another toy,” said one. Twitter user wrote.
“My family ordered McDonald’s and so I ordered a happy meal because I was not so hungry and had the chance to get Pokémon … No,” he added. another. “Thank you, scalpers.”
