Poirier vs. McGregor 3 ‘for T-Mobile Arena with fans

The UFC will soon be home in front of a live audience.

Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena will host UFC 264, UFC President Dana White, on July 10 announced on Wednesday. The event will be open to the public, and tickets are expected to go on sale this week.

UFC 264 will be the headline of the highly anticipated trilogy between Dustin Poirier (27-6 MMA, 19-5 UFC) and Conor McGregor (22-5 MMA, 10-3 UFC). McGregor achieved a knockout blow from Poirier at UFC 178 in 2014, but Poirier claimed his revenge nearly six years later when he knocked out McGregor at UFC 257 last January.

Unlike their first game, the run-up to the rematch was quite friendly, with McGregor offering a generous donation to Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation. But according to Poirier, McGregor never made the money through, causing a Twitter spatter between the two this week.

The back-and-forth sequence led to McGregor threatening with someone else instead, as numerous lightweights such as Rafael dos Anjos and Kevin Lee jumped at the opportunity to throw their names in the hat. Maybe a little gameplay by McGregor, but the promotion pushed forward with the announcement that the UFC will return this summer in front of a live audience in Las Vegas.

The UFC 264 Series contains:

  • Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor
  • Gilbert Burns vs. Stephen Thompson
  • Jessica Eye vs. Jennifer Maia
  • Ryan Hall teen Ilia Topuria
  • Omari Akhmedov vs. Brad Tavares
  • Jerome Rivera vs. Zhalgas Zhumagulov
  • Greg Hardy teen Tai Tuivasa
