Poder Eyecutivo deposited Proyecto de Ley de Referendo ante la Cámara de Diputados

The Executive Power has deposited its rights with the Ley de Referendo Project, at the National Congress, via the Chamber of Deputies.

Poder Ejecutivo’s Legal Adviser, Antoliano Peralta Romero, and the Deputy Consultant, Pedro Montilla Castillo, will introduce the legislative piece to the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco and representative Luis Abinader.

Peralta Romero recorded that, however, other projects had been run before the Legislative Chambers with a similar end, which now has the specificity of referring exclusively to referring to its consultative and constitutional approvals.

“It is with a view to agilizing the regulation of this figure in particular, without prejudice to the fact that other mechanisms can be involved in the participation mechanisms agreed upon in the Constitution,” Peralta Romero said.

The deposit initiative deals with the principles underlying this figure and its application.

All women can initiate the referendum and reach the National Congress by soliciting the various differences. However, the procedure is followed for the materialization of the consultations, among other aspects of interest.

Peralta Romero recorded that from now on the initiative takes the natural course of an organic law, which is required to require special mayors in each of the chambers.

The official supported by this government continues his announced plan for institutional and democratic advocacy, through a series of legal reforms and the impetus for public policy determination.
