PlayStation Store does not allow you to buy or rent movies or TV shows after August 31st

If you prefer to buy all your movies and TV shows in the PlayStation Store, you will not be able to do so much longer. In a blog post today, Sony announced that it will discontinue purchases in its digital store from August 31st.

Why is Sony calling the “tremendous growth” of entertainment consumed by subscription services and ad-based streaming services on PlayStation hardware?

Fortunately, Sony confirms that anyone who has purchased or plans to purchase movie or TV content through the PS Store before August will still have access to the content after the changes take effect, with playback available on demand at PS4, PS5 and Mobile Devices.

This is not the first time Sony has removed less popular media from the PS Store. Last October, Sony said that the revamped PS Store, which arrived before the launch of the PS5, no longer allows users to buy older games and DLC, which was initially released on the PS3 or the PSP and Vita computers, unless you search the store from those devices. .
