PlayStation Plus free games announced for 2021, includes Final Fantasy 7 Remake

PlayStation Plus subscribers have access to four games in March, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Square Enix’s action role-playing game can be downloaded on March 2 via PS Plus Model, Remains: From the ashes, en Farpoint.

Model is the recursive puzzle adventure game from developer Graceful Decay and publisher Annapurna Interactive. In Model, the player manipulates a small model of the game world in which they live. Objects moving or being brought within the title mackerel are represented on a large scale in the real world, and players must move objects to move through a recursive environment. Model will have a brand new version available through PS Plus.

Remains: From the ashes is a Dark Souls-inspired shooter. The third person survival action game is from Gunfire Games, and features collaborative multiplayer. Farpoint is a first-person virtual reality shooter designed for PlayStation VR. It was developed by Impulse Gear and released in 2017.

February’s free PlayStation Plus, Manage Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie, can be downloaded until March 1. Another PS Plus game, Destruction of AllStars, is also available to download until April 5th.

Square Enix released an upgraded version of Final fantasy 7 Remake, known as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, optimized for PlayStation 5. The upgrade is free for PS4 owners of the game – but only for those who have purchased it. In other words, PlayStation Plus subscribers who download the PS4 game for free next month will not be eligible Intergrade as a free PS5 upgrade. It is unclear at this stage whether Square Enix will offer a paid upgrade for the customers, or how much it will cost.

Update: We have made it clear that the free download of PlayStation Plus from Final Fantasy 7 Remake cannot be upgraded for free to the upcoming PlayStation 5 version of the game.
