And with Trophies also activated.
Skyrim fans with access to a PlayStation 5 can now join their Xbox Series X / S brothers and give Bethesda’s aging fantasy RPG a little graphic boost to 60 fps thanks to a newly released mod – and it will also works with Trophies enabled.
The Skyrim mod in question can be seen in all its 60 fps glory in a new video posted by author Wrighton on YouTube. If you like what you see, all you have to do is enable 60fps on PlayStation 5, download and activate the mod via Skyrim’s in-game mod menu, and then launch an existing savings program or start a new game.
It is noteworthy that the mod is also available on PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro, although performance improvements will of course vary per machine.
Skyrim, 60 fps, PS5!
What makes the mod extra special, though, is that it can be managed without eliminating Trophies. Simply download the mod as shown above, start a new game or save, and then return to the main menu. From there, it’s simply a matter of disabling or removing the mod via the appropriate menu, after which you can still run any game you start at 60 fps.
Keep in mind that Trophies will not be available when other modes are running, and that you will need to repeat the process to enable 60 fps when restarting Skyrim.
Xbox One X / S owners hoping to perform similar magic on their own consoles should check out Digital Foundry’s recent version of the options available on Microsoft machines.
