Player ratings: AC Milan 0-3 Inter

Milan could not achieve first place, as Inter scored three goals with San Siro earlier this afternoon. The match ends 3-0 and the Rossoneri will surely be disappointed. Below are the player ratings.

Begin XI

Donnarumma (5): Lukaku and Perisic scored some saves, but in the end they could definitely do better for the third goal that knocked at his nearest point.

Calabria (6): Both fullbacks had a lot of trouble with the fact that Inter overloaded the flanks and forced more space on the other sides, which made it possible to switch 1v1s against the fullback. Calabria handled their flank properly given the difficult task.

Kjaer (4): Lautaro loses for the opening goal and just generally seems shaky the whole game, not one of the center’s best midfielders.

Romagnoli (3): Had the unenviable task of marketing Lukaku and was simply not up to the task. Time and time again, Lukaku received the ball with his back to Alessio and virtually sealed it when he had time to pass out looking for runners, as shown in the second goal. It’s an incredibly difficult task to stop, but knowing it was coming, he had to do better against the consistent style of play.

Hernandez (5): Once again, the fullback is suffocated on the left and if he can not get a running head, his crossing leaves much to be desired. Late in the first half had a chance for an equalizer, but just kicked it wide.

Tonali (5): Mostly anonymous during the match, but a powerful shot saved by the stars Handanovic, and also could not drop Hakimi in the build-up to Inter’s second match, when it was clear that Hakimi would make a 4v2 match .

Kessie (5): Not the best match of the Ivory Coast, but also not entirely his fault, but the instructions were clear that he had to push high, which against our defense conceded far too many 1v1s to Lukaku.

Saelemaekers (4.5): On both sides offered nothing but his usual role providing significant coverage for Calabria, but it was found to be lacking for much of this match.

Calhanoglu (5): Nowhere near what we expected from the best creative outlet of the team, consistently lazy with his passing and frustratingly indecisive with his last ball, especially in a first half chance that Rebic clearly had to send on goal, but rather a had goal kick.

Rebic (4): Not at all his kind of games, because with Theo there was no space on the left that severely limited his pass, and without his pass he was basically a lame duck for the whole game.

Ibrahimovic (5): During the break he forced two great saves from Handanovic, but in the end he had to do better to make it practically impossible to save for the goalkeeper.
