Pistons watching two young players in potential Derrick Rose trade

The New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons get a foothold with a potential trade involved veteran point guard Derrick Rose. Rose currently has a two-year, $ 15 million deal that expires after the current season, which makes the idea that New York will trade a young player very interesting.

With Elfrid Payton playing well and Immanuel Quickley having an immediate impact on offense, the trade for Rose could be tumultuous for the development of the young point guard and the disruption of Payton’s consistency.

However, you can also consider Rose as a mentor to Quickley, who has the potential to be one of the next big players in the NBA position. This season, Rose averaged 14.2 points over 22.8 minutes. He has not started a game yet, as he played at 15 at the age of 32.

The New York Knicks have a long-standing relationship with D-Rose due to Tom Thibodeau:

Rose and head coach Tom Thibodeau have a fantastic relationship, and that’s probably why the two are connected. Reports have indicated that the two teams are close to a deal, and that Detroit is reportedly considering Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox as two players they want to acquire. I strongly doubt the Knicks let both go, so Detroit will have to pick one or the other.

Frank presents an elite defense gift that could not realize his offensive abilities. He scored just 4.5 points per game over four games this year, while Kevin Knox scored 6.1 points in 18.2 minutes. Neither of the two players has a significant impact, and that’s probably why President Leon Rose approves of sending them on their way.

Because the Pistons want to use more youth on the track, this deal makes sense to them. Adding younger players they can develop and with untapped potential is a positive step, especially for a player like Rose, who is in the final year of a deal and is not considered a future benefactor.

Rose would join Thibodeau in New York, with 2015 being the last time they played together. Thibodeau is attributed to Rose’s rise, but there is also the belief that he is working too hard, which has led to injuries.

The obvious connection between the two must have some sort of significance, and Detroit urgently needs more help from Killian Hayes, who is dealing with a hip injury. The addition of Frank Ntilikina would be a good step for them and give them some defensive skill in the position.
