Pillars of Eternity will no longer get spots on the link, despite unresolved issues

In a statement today on Twitter, Versus Evil, the publisher of the Switch port of Pillars of Eternity, said the game would no longer receive patches because they “have reached a limit on what we can do with our updates”.

“[We] exhausted the options left to us from the PC origins in terms of the limitations of the hardware we work with, “Versus Evil said in the statement, referring to the Nintendo Switch. As some people have noted, the similar Divinity: Original Sin 2 runs just fine on the console, so there’s probably something going on with the Pillars port we’re not used to.

The game will apparently be left in its current state, although it does include many bugs, such as the Ranger pet not appearing, the publisher admits. The game is still full price on the eShop, although it’s 75% off on Steam, and Versus Evil in particular did not offer refunds, although the game has been available on Switch since 2019.
